The digital economy is equivalent to 15.5% of global GDP, growing two and a half times faster than global GDP over the past 15 years. It is becoming a key force in reshaping the global economic structure and transforming the global competitive landscape. It has also become an important engine and a new growth point driving China's economy, of which digital industry is growing at a rapid pace. China's global innovation index ranking has increased steadily for 9 consecutive years, with a strong upward momentum.

Understanding the overall arrangement of digital industry and ensuring the coordinated response should be concerned. Which proactive industrial and innovation policies are required to better support knowledge-intensive activities? What will it take for countries to harness the benefits and manage the risks in the rapid development of digital technologies? Amid de-globalization trends and geopolitical tensions, is global digital governance still possible? What are the benefits of digital transformation for businesses and what are the main obstacles facing companies in expanding digital markets?

"Roundtable 3: Powering Innovation Strategy for Digital Economy: Best Practices and Lessons Learned" is a part of CCG 9th China Inbound-Outbound Forum to be held in Beijing on September 2.
