Fall 2024 Evening Lecture Series: Stephan Wolohojian, "The Practice of Painting: Siena Around 1300," recorded on November 20, 2024.

John Pope-Hennessy Curator in Charge of European Paintings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Stephan Wolohojian received his PhD from Harvard University where he was also Head of the Division of European and American Art at the Harvard Art Museums. He has held academic and museum positions and has curated many exhibitions and coordinated major reinstallations of permanent collections. Among his projects at The Met was the exhibition Manet/Degas and overseeing the highly acclaimed reinstallation of the pre-1800 collection of European Paintings in the museum’s renovated skylit galleries. This talk is held in connection with the Met Museum exhibition Siena: The Rise of Painting, 1300-1350, on view October 24, 2024 – January 26, 2025.
