Amanda Herrmann, MD, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA, explores the concept of time toxicity in lung cancer clinical trials, focusing on the development of a standardized metric to quantify the time burden on patients. In a retrospective analysis of 26 trials of targeted therapies, time toxicity was measured in Time Toxicity Units (TTUs). Findings suggest an increase in time toxicity over time, highlighting the importance of minimizing time toxicity to enhance patient enrollment and streamline clinical trial protocols. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
