Modern Jakarta was really not what I expected! This is my first time in Jakarta and I was really excited to be here! I couldn't believe this is Jakarta, I thought it was Singapore.
I started my journey off in the Kuningan area and made my way along the clean, green and modern streets of Jakarta to the MRT station.
Along the way to the station I noticed lots of political banners and posters on the streets. I think their must be some kind of presidential campaign going on in Jakarta at the moment.
I then traveled on Jakarta's very convenient metro system to Istora Mandiri so we could check out the SCBD area. Sudirman central business district.
My first impressions of the metro was that it was super clean and modern and it was really cool.
Once I arrived at Istora Mandiri it was super busy with lots of people. Many of them were very friendly and saying hello to the camera and me.
I then made my way into the insanely modern and luxury shopping mall called Pacific Place mall.
Upon my arrival there were a Chinese new year celebration ceromony taking place. It was great!
I've never seen such a huge looking beautiful mall, it was really quite shocking. It's what I expected to see in Jakarta at all.
After that I managed to find some delicious Indonesian food inside the Ashta mall at a restaurant called Semesta.
I had one of probably the best meals I ever had in Indonesia so far, it was really great.
I had a Lemon cui kiamboy Kawanua drink, beef sate, sei sapi and nasi goreng. I really enjoyed the bacon kind of meat and the nasi goreng was delicious!
After than huge meal I was really full, but there was only one logical next step and that was JCO donuts!
These JCO donuts were really good, much better than Krispy Kreme.After a donut feast I made my way down to the gym and pool to try and burn off some of those calories.
My journey in Jakarta is just beginning and I really excited to explore this amazing city.
