This is some gameplay of Shadow Ops: Red Mercury for the original Xbox.

Shadow Ops may be a relatively generic Tactical (or if you're using new terms "Modern") FPS game, but as with a lot of games that get raped by the mainstream gamers for being "generic," there is actually a a flawed, but fun experience underneath.

It's not perfect, but I actually enjoy games like this. Is the game on par with games like Rainbow Six 3, or Ghost Recon on the Xbox? No. But does that mean that you should overlook it because it's not as good? Only if you're a gaming snob. Shadow Ops is one for more forgiving gamers. There's not much you haven't seen here before, there isn't much you haven't seen done better elsewhere, but if you're forgiving and can overlook the generic feel, you'll find a solid experience underneath. Sure, the game could have used a sprint button, and the levels are pretty linear in design, but overall the game does a decent job at keeping you in the action. It even has a co-op campaign that you can use to kill a few hours with a buddy.

Overall, it's not on par with Ubi's games, but I'd put it above other flawed tactical shooters on the Xbox like Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, Combat Task Force 121, and Close Combat.
