I’m continuing to produce videos to help other woodworkers. My Holtzapffel joiner's workbench is finally literally coming together. This video has been a long time in the making and one several have asked for. In this video I show the final assembly of my workbench base.

I bought the lumber for this workbench at least two years ago. The Douglas fir 4X4s were wet so I dried them in my garden shed where they literally baked for many months. After milling the lumber and creating all the necessary joinery (see my May 3, 2019 Shop Update for that) I finally assembled the bench. This video shows how that was done. The method I used allows me to tighten the bench if the joints loosen over time.

Some of you have been waiting a while for this workbench build. I think it’s important to note here that between the time I bought the lumber for this workbench I’ve had a heart attack, heart bypass surgery and have produced sixty videos that are here on my YouTube channel. While the base is finally built I still need to attach the top and rails and mount the vises. Hopefully I can accomplish those tasks in a more timely manner. That, at least, is my goal. Thank you all for your patience.
