It was our first time in Mossel Bay and we weren't altogether sure of what to expect, but we can now clarify it all for you.

Time is Mossel Bay is best spent on the balcony in deep debate about the reason for the ships coming in to the harbour and those heading out. This can, of course, be broken up with discussions on whether or not people have any feeling in their feet as they stand ankle-deep in the ocean (in bitterly cold weather) fishing.

You'll then find that you've spent way longer than expected admiring the ocean and it's time for bed.

The following morning constitutes three table moves for breakfast, just to be sure you've got the best oceanfront view. It seems this is really normal, or else the staff at The Bay Lodge are just super friendly - not only were they more than happy to indulge our constant shifting, but they were right there with the advice!

Next time we're in Mossel Bay though, we know exactly which table we're heading for!
