GUEST INTERVIEW: Since 1990, Manhattan Associates has been is a technology leader in supply chain, and retail and e-commerce, working with some of the world's biggest brands. Some of these span from Adidas to Renault Nissan, from Dell to DHL, from GM to Walmart, from Nike to Sysco and plenty more.

We recently spoke with Raghav Sibal, the Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand for Manhattan Associates to learn more.

In business for over three decades, Manhattan Associates explains that it "unites information across the enterprise, converging front-end sales with back-end supply chain execution."

We're told its "software, platform technology and unmatched experience help drive both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability" for its customers.

Given the maturity of digital transformation and the cloud in 2021, it comes as no surprise that Manhattan Associates "designs, builds and delivers leading edge cloud and on-premises solutions," so that across the store, online or from their fulfilment centres, Manhattan’s retail customers are "ready to reap the rewards of the omnichannel marketplace."

Manhattan Associates’ technology connects two billion people to twenty billion consumer choices, with 150,000 pairs of shoes moved every hour, 300,000 tons of food moved every day, $101 billion in retail pharmaceuticals helping people keep healthy, with a reach spanning 8 million miles across four oceans and six continents, meaning it can "enable, enhance and expand commerce across the globe."

I started by welcoming Raghav to the program, and asking him to explain Manhattan Associates in 2021, and how it has evolved since it first started in 1990.

We spoke about the criticality of the company's products and services to the modern world, helping ensure they stayed in business with all the changes and challenges of the COVID world we now live in, and what makes Manhattan Associates' technology different.

Raghav spoke about some of the company's many and varied global customers, including Super Retail Group, one of Australia's leading retailers and parent company of Rebel, Super Cheap Auto, BCF and Macpac. Super Retail Group successfully went live recently with Manhattan's Distributed Order Management solution, part of the Manhattan Active Omni solution suite.

We looked at how this project was able to be implemented during the pandemic, and how the solution was able to help smooth out supply chain disruptions, and how it does this for its other customers, too.

Raghav spoke about the company's landmark advancement which offers "a unified distribution, transportation, labour and automated solution within a single, cloud-native application," looking at what things were like before this, and the type of innovation required to bring this to realty.

We looked at how the industry will evolve over the next couple of years through to what the industry's evolution might look like in 2030, before delving into Raghav's memories of his first computer, the best advice he has received in life, and his final message to iTWire viewers and readers, and to his current and future customers and partners.
