Summary:

In 2005, a guy posted on the 2chan thread that heworked in construction and his company was involved indemolishing an old temple in lwate prefecture (which isalso where Akutami was born). He said they found a 2mwOoden box, dark with age, nailed shut in a sealed roomin the back of the main hall building of the temple. Stuckto the box was a crumbling white piece of paper withcharacters that almost looked like Sanskrit.
He could only make out that it said:
"Taisho * Year *July ** With * juho (incantation),Ryomen Sukuna ** is sealed"
Instead of opening the box, they decided to set it asidefor the day and contact the former head priest of thetemple.
The next morning, 2chan guy gets a call that the formerhead priest, who apparently sounded furious, said theymust absolutely not open the box and he'd take it back.So 2chan guy calls the supervisor of the worksite torelay instructions, but the supervisor says two of theirpart-timers, who are Chinese exchange students, openedthe box in the middle of the night for fun and he shouldcome to the temple worksite right away.
2chan guy rushes to the temple where there are 5-6workers surrounding the prefab work trailer where thebox was being kept and sees the part-timers sitting infront of the trailer, mute and dazed. The supervisor tellshim there's something wrong with what's inside the boxand asks 2chan guy to take a look.
2chan looks inside the box and sees a mummy with twoheads attached like conjoined twins, two rights arms, twoleft arms, and two legs. Since the part-timers seemed tobe in shock and wouldn't respond when spoken to afopening the box, it was decided that they'd be takenthe hospital. While the workers were discussing whetheror not to qontact the police,that's when the fomer headpriest showed up with his son
The first thing the priest, who looked to be in his 80's,yelled was (paraphrasing) "You opened it?! You opened it,you idiots?! It's all over. Once you've opened it, it's all overfor you."
Then he turned to his son and shouted, "T told youthat time that you absolutely must send RyomenSukuna-sama to the *** Temple in Kyoto! You never sentit, you blockhead?! You idiot!"
Then "Who opened it? At the hospital? It's probablytoo late for them, but lll exorcise you guys." He spentabout 30 minutes reciting what sounded like sutras andsmacking the shoulders and backs of the remainingworkers, including 2chan guy, with the Buddhistscriptures.
The priest loaded the box into his son's car and beforeleaving, said "T'm sorry. This is hard for me to say, but youguys probably won't live long, either."
After that, one of the exchange students mysteriouslydied of a heart attack at the hospital and the otherstudent was transferred to a mental hospital. Three ofthe demolition workers were bedridden with high feversand 2chan guy stepped on a nail, requiring 5 stitches.
Then 2chan guy suddenly stopped posting on the threadand came back about half an hour later, claiming thepower had went out. (This happened again later in thethread.) He said he wanted to know more about themummy and had tried calling the former head priest, butsince the priest wouldn't answer, he got in contact withthe son instead.
