Описание к видео What are pentatonic scales and why are they special? Music theory in Telugu - Lesson 2

Pentanonic scales are popular in many cultures. They contain 5 notes up and down or sometimes may contain all 7 notes during descending. Major Pentanonic scale is also similar to Mohana ragam in Carnatic. By skipping 2 notes, the tune is easier to sing or play but more importantly the skipping of notes creates a sense of distance and depth and a deeper feeling of longing, hence used in love songs, sad songs or devotional songs.
