Today we're going to be taking a look at the Fulton Single-Speed Trailer Winch. This hand winch makes it easier to pull or lift large or heavy items. It's going to be ideal for boat trailers. The single-speed hand winch has a convenient two-way ratchet system. That lever's located right here. With it in this position, you can only rotate the handle one direction, can't go back the other direction. Flip it into the other position, then you can only rotate the handle the opposite way and not back the way we just came. It's a really nice design, very easy to control, very easy to operate.
It's going to feature carbon steel construction. That's going to offer superior strength and durability for better functioning and an overall increased lifespan. It's also going to feature solid drum gear construction which eliminates corrosion, that is common among winches with a riveted drum and gear. It features oil shaft bushings and full-length drum bearings that make for a really nice, smooth, efficient operation. This winch has a Z-Max 600 finish. It's going to provide increased corrosion resistance.
Its going to features 600-hour salt spray rating. Its got the nice comfort grip handle, makes cranking very easy. Mounting hardware to get this installed is not included but the handle is included. It's just held on this post over here with the included lock nut. I'm going to go ahead and take it off, so that way, it just makes it a little bit easier when we get ready for measurements. Now, again, mounting hardware is not included.
Instructions recommend using three 3/8" diameter grade five hardware. A nice, convenient design that's for use with either a cable or strap, it will accept both. Those are not included, so those will need to be provided separately. Now, this handle, from where it mounts on the winch, backside of where it mounts to the furthest outpoint, gave us a handle length of around eight and a quarter inches. If we show that measurement real quick, just line up eight and a quarter here at the handle, that's from the back side to the furthest outpoint of the handle, about eight and one quarter inches. The winch features a gear ratio of 3.1:1. When it comes to the drum storage or capacity, for a quarter inch cable, you can have up to 36 feet on here.
For a strap, your strap needs to be two inches wide. This will accommodate a 12 foot long, two inch wide strap. The capacity of the winch is 900 pounds. All that information is engraved right here on the side plate. It says, max line pull capacity 900 pounds, for the first layer, 450 pounds full drum. A few other measurements to go over with real quick. The overall height, that's going to measure about four and one quarter inches tall. Overall length from furthest outpoint to furthest out point's about six inches, and then the width from furthest outpoint here at this bolt to the furthest outpoint on this side is about five and one eighth of an inch wide. You can see the mounting options here on the bottom. It's got elongated holes and they're like a t-slot right there. The base measures about three and eleven sixteenth of an inch by three and five eighths. That's going to do it for today's look at the Fulton Single-Speed Trailer winch.
