The new cabinet of the French government has been revealed nearly a month after the appointment of Sebastien Lecornu, President Emmanuel Macron's seventh prime minister.

Roland Lescure, a close ally of Macron, was appointed finance minister in the new line-up where he risks being toppled by the opposition in a deeply divided parliament despite his efforts to obtain cross-party support.

Several key ministers have remained in their post, including Jean-Noel Barrot at the foreign ministry, Bruno Retailleau at the interior ministry and Gerald Darmanin at the justice ministry.

All members of the government will be convened by the President for a cabinet meeting on Monday.
