Описание к видео Becoming the leader and object of a cult in 20 years or less | Jill Conner Browne | TEDxJackson

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. One of the pillars of our creative economy, the original Sweet Potato Queen, tells her amazing story of creating something from nothing by doing what made her heart sing.

Jill Conner Browne is the multiple #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Sweet Potato Queens’ Book of Love and eight other Sweet Potato Queens books. The self-proclaimed Boss Queen assembled a group of friends to participate in Jackson’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1983, calling themselves the Sweet Potato Queens on a whim. Since that time, the Sweet Potato Queens phenomenon has inspired more than 6,200 chapter groups in 37 countries.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
