"You Bet Your Life" - Nostalgic Radio and TV Show comedy series aired on radio and television in the 1940s & 1950s. It's also called "The Groucho Show"

You Bet Your Life was a gameplay where the contestants as a players interacted with a game in a specific way. Usually contestant teamed as a couple, consisted of a male and a female, who are selected from the studio audience mostly. However, occasionally celebrities who are already famous or interesting figures were invited to play by teaming up with their relatives to win money for themselves or for charities. In fact, sometimes, the interviews were so memorable that the contestants became celebrities.

Each comedy quiz show episode began with the contestants' introduction. After the introduction and interview, the actual game began. Couples were allowed to choose from a list of 20 available categories before the show; then they tried to answer a series of questions within that category. Contestant couples were asked four questions and depending on the year of air, each couple began with $20, wagering part or all of their bankroll for each question.

In all formats, one of the two players on the team could keep their half of the winnings, while the other risked their half. In this case, all amounts being played for were divided in half. Again, depending on the year of air, the highest-scoring couple was given one final jackpot question that began at $1,000 and increased by $500 each week until won.

You Bet Your Life gameplay was a popular quiz comedy show of its time. The radio version was sponsored by Allen Gellman, president of Elgin American. Later on, the comedy show was sponsored by Chrysler with the addition of television show version.

The comedy quiz show's best-remembered remark supposedly occurred as Groucho was interviewing Charlotte Story. When the quiz show You Bet Your Life popularity waned and fell out of the top 25. NBC ended the show in 1961.
