During its stay in Iran, this car has seen various partial and general facelifts, and Samand Soren is considered its first official facelift, which went to the market since 2006; In addition to applying some changes to the front window, lights and bumpers, a stronger braking system was also used in Samand Soren to cover some of the defects of previous models of Samand.

In 2010, Samand Soren was equipped with a 1.7-liter EF7 engine and four wheels with disc brakes, which is called Samand Soren ELX. Since 2015, the turbocharged version of Soren has entered the market; Now, after several years, Iran Khodro Company has decided to revise the design of Samand Soren and introduced the Soren Plus model to the customers.

پروژه سمند از سال‌های دهه ۷۰ به عنوان اولین خودرو ملی ایران در دستور کار قرار گرفت اما افتتاح خط تولید آن تا پیش از سال ۸۱ میسر نشد. این خودرو طی مدت حضور خود در ایران فیس‌ لیفت‌های جزئی و کلی مختلفی را به خود دیده و سمند سورن اولین فیس لیفت رسمی آن به شمار می‌رود که از سال ۱۳۸۶ راهی بازار شد؛ علاوه بر اعمال برخی تغییرات ظاهری در جلو پنجره، چراغ‌ها و سپرها، سیستم ترمز قوی‌تری نیز در سمند سورن به خدمت گرفته شد تا برخی ایرادات مدل‌های پیشین سمند را پوشش داده باشد.

در سال ۱۳۹۰ نیز سمند سورن به پیشرانه ۱.۷ لیتری EF7 و چهار چرخ با ترمز دیسکی مجهز شد که از آن به عنوان سمند سورن ای ال ایکس یاد می‌شود. از سال ۱۳۹۵ نیز نسخه توربوشارژ سورن به بازار راه پیدا کرد؛ حال و پس از گذشت چند سال، شرکت ایران خودرو تصمیم به بازنگری جزیی در طراحی سمند سورن گرفته و مدل سورن پلاس را به حضور مشتریان معرفی کرده است
