The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, positioned in Clark County, Nevada, is a locality supervised by the Bureau of Land Management as part of its National Landscape Conservation System and recognized as a National Conservation Area. Situated roughly 15 miles (24 km) to the west of Las Vegas, this extraordinary region draws more than three million tourists each year.

This preservation area is celebrated for its striking crimson stone formations, comprising sandstone peaks and cliffs sculpted by geological thrust faults, including the prominent Keystone Thrust. The towering cliffs soar to heights of up to 3,000 feet (910 m), making the zone a preferred destination for hiking and rock climbing aficionados. The pinnacle of the region is La Madre Mountain, ascending to 8,154 feet (2,485 m).

A one-way pathway, stretching 13 miles (21 km), provides vehicular access to numerous characteristics of the area. Several side routes and parking facilities allow entry to various trails throughout the zone. At the onset of the loop road, a visitor center is available to assist patrons. The loop is also favored among cyclists; it begins with a moderate ascent and is primarily downhill or flat afterward.

Rocky Gap Road, situated within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, is a side gorge accessible solely by an unmaintained primitive pathway from the scenic loop, which is mainly open to off-road or high-clearance vehicles. State Route 159 cuts through Cottonwood Valley, part of the Old Spanish Trail. From SR 159, explorers can observe the majestic Wilson Cliffs to the west.

At the southern edge of the National Conservation Area, one can discover Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, the community of Blue Diamond, and Bonnie Springs Ranch, which showcases a replica of a western ghost town. However, it was sold in 2019 and is no longer accessible to the public.
