Returns and Exchanges
I had some interesting experiences over the holidays and into January that made me really contemplate the current return and exchanges policy at UT Kilts. I was looking at a bean bag type item for my home along with some organizational bins for the UT Kilts warehouse. Each one of these had a horrible returns and exchanges policy. The bean bag, if I did not like it and returned it, would have cost me over $60 in shipping and restocking fees. I could not believe it! Especially since the company said they had the best bean bag type chair anywhere. I asked myself: If it was so amazing, why would you make me pay a restocking fee and the return shipping fee? That made no sense to me. The same thing happened with the organizational bins for the warehouse. They had up to 25% restocking fees plus whatever it would cost me to ship it back. These experiences made me reflect on the current returns and exchanges policy.
As I thought about it over the past few weeks this is what came to my mind. First, I firmly believe that UT Kilts has the best kilts anywhere. That led me to ask myself this question: If I believe UT Kilts has the best kilts, then should I not back that up? Not just say that I do but back it up with a returns and exchanges policy that says the same thing? The only logical answer to that is YES! So with that in mind, here are the changes to our return policy:
All returns and exchanges for in-stock items will be completely FREE! When initiating a return or exchange you will be given a pre-paid shipping label to get the item back to us. As long as the item is still in new condition, there will be no questions asked when you need to exchange or return an item. It will not cost anyone a dime to return an item or exchange one.
I am really excited about this change to UT Kilts. We rarely do exchanges and returns are even more rare. In fact over 94% of purchases from UT Kilts are not returned or exchanged. That is unheard of for clothing stores. This change will make UT Kilts even easier and simpler to purchase from. You will have the knowledge that if you get an item that you are not happy with, you will not spend any money to get the item back to us for an exchange or refund.
*This policy excludes special order items for the time being. Special orders are being looked at for possible returns.
Product Pricing changes

It has been 10 years since we officially listed our products on our current website. We can't believe it has been that long! In that time we have tried to eliminate cost increases as much as possible. However, from time to time it is necessary. In fact, the standard and deluxe utility kilts have been the same price for all of the last 10 years! The following products are changing:

Price Decreases
Kilt hangers - $4.50 to $3.75 (single hanger purchase)
$3.50 to $2.90 (purchase 2 or more)
Ghillie Shirts - Still trying to determine what the price will be
but it will be lowered from the $23.50

Price Increases
Standard Utility kilts - $50 to $52.50
Standard Tartan Utility Kilts - $60 to $62.50
Deluxe Utility Kilts - $65 to $67.50

The increases will take effect on Monday, February 1st. The price decreases have already been put into place. Special order Deluxe and Standard utility kilts will also see an increase of the $2.50.

Shipping Changes:
Depends on where you live, but on average we have only seen an increase of about $.50
