In this series of short videos, one of our founders, Mark Bowen, explains how as a property investor or developer you can consider supported living in your property portfolio. This first video explains what supported living is.

Supported Living is a tenancy arrangement for people with support needs. It's a flexible arrangement where we separate the provision of housing and the provision of care. In this video Mark explains the benefit of this separation of care and housing and how this can benefit the tenant.

The concept of supported living, is that housing is provided to the individual, but is provided separately to the provision of care and is paid for separately. The housing is funded by Housing Benefit, and the care is funded by payments from by local government. It’s kept separate. This means that there is flexibility in the living arrangements for the person who is getting supported living care.
