Описание к видео The World Around - SUMMIT 2024

The World Around’s Annual Summit will take place at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York on May 11, 2024. The daylong summit, now in its fifth edition, featured leading figures in architecture, design, and other creative fields including MAD Architects founder Ma Yansong, MASS Design Group’s Joe Christa Giraso, and Lucas Museum of Narrative Art director Sandra Jackson-Dumont.

The series of talks and panel discussions encompassed a year of architecture in one day,
spotlighting impactful projects and ideas from the past twelve months. Curated by The World Around’s executive director, Beatrice Galilee, the speakers will represent the now, near, and next of architecture, and share new and under-construction projects, research, ideas, and innovations.

The talks and presentations were intended to amplify urgent and critical topics that architects and other creatives are facing today, as well as advance thoughts and actions in, and around, the discipline of architecture. For this year’s edition, one panel was presented and co-curated together with Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain’s Béatrice Grenier. For the fourth consecutive year, The World Around’s Annual Summit was presented in partnership with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Their collaborative programming partnership began in 2021, when The World Around was in residence at the museum.

The World Around Annual Summit 2024 is co-presented by The World Around and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The World Around is supported by its Global Cultural Partner the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, which is dedicated to promoting and raising public awareness of contemporary art, and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.
