In a video message, the actor-turned-politician claimed he left the rally to help de-escalate the situation and hinted at a conspiracy behind the tragedy. He urged the government, “CM sir, if you have any problem with this traitor, do whatever you want. Don't lay your hands on them,” referring to his party cadre. The statement drew sharp criticism from DMK MP Kanimozhi, who questioned his decision to leave the crisis-hit site. The local administration also countered Vijay's claims. An NDA delegation, including MPs Anurag Thakur and Hema Malini, visited Karur to meet the victims' families.
