Understanding Amazon Database Migration Accelerator - AWS Online Tech Talks

Customers are interested in being able to migrate their Java or .NET applications running on Oracle or SQL Server to PostgreSQL or MySQL at fixed prices. To support this need, AWS introduced Amazon Database Migration Accelerator (DMA) in 2020. Amazon DMA can refactor workloads to operate on PostgreSQL or MySQL at fixed, pre-defined prices. In this tech talk, we will describe the tools, techniques, and framework we use to assess and qualify workloads for the program. We will describe each workload category, their features, and the techniques to assess the database and application code. Lastly, we will briefly describe our process of migration and will also cover some of its limitations.
