Music by Bradley G. Courtney. Lyrics by Bradley G. Courtney and Johan Glidden. Song produced and recorded by Johan Glidden. Music video directed and produced by Julie Prestwick-Trainor.
This song and music video are dedicated to those who add to the true west culture that belongs to Prescott, Arizona. In 2021, our glorious town was named the #1 true west town by the popular and nationwide True West Magazine. That is in large part due to groups who honor the Old West, such as The Whiskey Row Historical Society & Social Club, Whiskey Row Renegades, John Ford Fourth Cavalry, Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Arizona Territorial Society, Prescott Tea Society, Arizona Rough Riders, and more. Please note that these groups consist of members who are veterans of war and others who have served in the military, policemen and women, firemen and women, search and rescue folks, teachers, real estate agents, businessmen and women, artists, entrepreneurs and more - people who have more than contributed to society and deserve the right to dress up as Wyatt and Sadie and Virgil and Doc and Big Nose Kate and Wild Bill or Calamity Jane, or some character of their own making—whoever they want to pretend to be. For decades, Prescott has been a tourist attraction. Today, it is even more so, and it will become even more so. This can be lamented. Or celebrated! Those who chose to be part of this music video opted to celebrate this truth, and wonderful, prosperous promising inevitability! Get out and join us! Wherever you are from, come and enjoy and celebrate Prescott and Whiskey Row with its Wild West culture! Let’s go down, oh take me down to Whiskey Row!
Baby, it’s finally Friday night
A closet full of clothes, gonna dress up right
I’ll be Wyatt, you’ll be Sadie
A dandy cowboy, a beautiful lady
Walkin’ down the Row we’ll be a sight
(Chorus)
Let’s go down
Take me down
Let’s go down to Whiskey Row
Let’s go down
Take me down
To where the wild at heart go
Let’s go down
Take me down
Let’s go down to Whiskey Row
Let’s go down
Oh, take me down to Whiskey Row
Bustin’ through those swingin’ doors
The sound of our boots on the hardwood floor
Boys drink beer, girls drink wine
Dancin’ in the light of the Palace sign
Big Al will pour us a little bit more (pour it tall girl)
Guitar solo
Tippin' my hat to people we know
This is how we do it on Whiskey Row
Take my hand and here we go (here we go, my queen)
Chorus and guitar solo
