ബതൂത്തയും സി എച്ചും ഹജ്ജും...

'മജീദ് നാട്ടിലുള്ള മാവുകളിലൊക്കെ വലിഞ്ഞുകയറും. അവയുടെ ഉച്ചിയിലെ ചില്ലക്കൊമ്പുകളിൽ പിടിച്ച് ഇലപ്പടർപ്പുകളുടെ മീതേകൂടി അനന്തമായ ലോക വിശാലതയിൽ നോക്കുക അവന് ഒരു രസമാണ്. ചക്രവാളത്തിൻറെ അപ്പുറത്തുള്ള ലോകങ്ങൾ കാണാൻ അവനു കൊതിയാണ്. ഭാവനയിൽ മുഴുകി അവൻ വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഉച്ചിയിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ അടിയിൽ നിന്ന് സുഹ്റ വിളിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു:

"മക്കം കാണാവോ ചെറ്ക്കാ?"

മജീദ് അതിനുത്തരമായി ഉയരെ മേഘങ്ങളോട് പറ്റിച്ചേർന്നു പറക്കുന്ന പരുന്തുകളുടെ പാട്ട് എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന വരികൾ സ്വരമാധുര്യത്തോടെ ഉരുവിടും:

"മക്കം കാണാം, മദീനത്തെ പള്ളി കാണാം!"
