In this video, Chris Ward covers displaying certifications on your resume. Having a certification is a great way to secure advancement or land a new job. But you owe it to yourself to display it correctly and make sure it properly advertises you and your abilities.

If you're thinking about trying to move upward in your organization (or outward to a new one), having a certification is one of the best, first steps you can take. But just having one is hardly enough.

The trick to making the certification do its best work is in properly displaying it on your resume. You've earned that cert — make sure anyone who reads your resume notices it and understands how much better you are at your job because you have it.

The right to use the certification's logo is a valuable benefit of the cert. By displaying the image associated with the cert alongside the actual job or project you undertook can contextualize and advertise your abilities — the thing that anyone who's hiring is searching for.
