For the beginning of Ranked Season 23, I decided to once again experiment and put together a fun but not too competitive build, as it tends to brick quite a bit, that is based on the Branded Darklord variant but is teched in with most of the varied Branded "Fallen of Albaz" Lore cards/support...well that would fit and thought would at least somewhat be coherent and work together.
I was surprised with how well it worked (the times it did not brick) and interesting it was being able to have different combo lines and versatile ways to extend plays and still have follow-up for the next turn. The reason for this little test experiment was to see how a 40+ card variant would perform in anticipation of the next wave of Branded support that will be arriving (hopefully soon like next month?) which might make it tougher to keep the deck size at exactly 40 cards, and even more so, trying to decide on the extra deck options with the even more limited space we have there (please Konami change it from 15 to 20 extra deck monsters)
The different Lore cards / Archetypes used as tech options or small engine packages were Bystial, Dogmatika, Swordsoul and Springans with various one-of spells and traps that support Fallen of Albaz. I wish I would have been able to include all Lore cards and archetype (such as Icejade which are one of my other favorite archetype...video coming soon on them?) but there are just way too many to include with the limited space and do not always synergize too well. It was hard enough to trying to showcase using all cards as they did not always come up very often but was nice to see when they did.
