Thank you for watching. In the middle of the global COIVD-19 Pandemic it’s important that we watch out for each other, and our own mental well-being. I see and hear the phrase ‘look after yourself’ being used a lot at the moment, but I worry that many people won’t know exactly what that means, especially in relation to their mental health. I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2003, and I still had no idea about Mental Health until the last couple of years. I sincerely hope that this video proves helpful during this unprecedented time in human history. List of Common Red Flags to watch out for:
i. Thoughts of self-harm, or actual self-harm
ii. Thoughts of taking your own life
iii. Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness
iv. Sleep or appetite changes — Dramatic sleep and appetite changes or decline in personal care
v. Mood changes — Rapid or dramatic shifts in emotions or depressed feelings
vi. Drop in functioning — An unusual drop in functioning, at school, work or social activities, such as quitting sports, failing in school or difficulty performing familiar tasks
vii. Problems thinking — Problems with concentration, memory or logical thought and speech that are hard to explain
