Justinian the Great part I - Eastern Roman Empire

On August 1st 527, the 45 year old Justinian I, became sole Augustus, the new emperor of eastern rome. His first action was to reiterate the religious policy of Justin in a firmly chalcedonian edict. Justinian inherited an empire in great shape with a full treasury but for now he needed to deal with the persian war.
