Описание к видео FS Thunderbolt 1000T Fast Wail/Growl Palos Park, IL 4/2/19

Siren: FS Thunderbolt 1000T, 1.9 RPM, 498/602 Hz
Town: Palos Park, IL
Location: Palos Park Fire Department
Test Time: 1st Tuesday 10 AM
Cycle: 1:03 of Fast Wail Growl

Other notes: Yep, the janky 1000 in Palos Park has been transformed into the janky 1000T.

This is something I've suspected for over 2 years now, starting with the Lemont ambiance video from TheThreeSirenGuys where you could just barely hear a 1000T doing some sort of attack in the distance, and then Burnoie's video where you could hear a 1000T wind up in Orland Park that came from the Palos area.

At first I was thinking there was another Bolt hiding somewhere in Palos Park but after searching for hours and coming up with nothing, a chopper swap was the only thing I could think of. Once I arrived and saw the chopper cover being a different color, that 100% confirmed it for me.

I'm surprised no one came back here sooner, if not just for its weird signal. Like the Culver T-112, I'm not sure what to call it. It's supposed to be fast wail given that's what their 2001s do, but it winds down too quickly and stays winding down too long, so I'm thinking extended growl is a proper name for this one.

The wind up is probably one of the best I've heard in person on a Thunderbolt, and I'm very glad this is dual tone now. Also, the sound is not out of sync. The rotator actually did take a few seconds to start rotating.

After this winds down, you can hear another 2001 to the northwest doing fast wail, other 2001s in the distance, plus a mystery siren to the southwest doing attack. We think it's the Model 7 at the NW Homer Fire Department, as John did confirm it tested, but it still sounds too off to me for it to be a Model 7, 8 port or 12 port.
