How to Grip and Snap a Screwball in Softball

Описание к видео How to Grip and Snap a Screwball in Softball

The screwball is considered an easy pitch for softball pitchers to learn. However, that doesn’t lessen the importance of a proper grip and snap.

For your screwball, there are two options with your grip. The first is a four-seam option. Here you will look for an upside down “C” and place as many fingers on the seam as possible. With your two-seam grip, you want to look for parallel vertical seams. Your index finger will be the last finger on the ball before you release the pitch.

When snapping a screwball, it will release off the side of your body. The goal is to push hard against your index finger and ‘screw’ the ball outward.
