In the space of a week, the Water Heroes of the Greater Harrismith area repair two major drinking water pipeline leaks that the Maluti-A-Phofung Municipal Manager Futhuli Mothamaha could not organise to be repaired.

The residents of Intabazwewere without water for 6 days, and the volume of water wasted through dereliction of duty by the MM is staggering, as shown by the giant pools of water in this video. The important economic hub at Industria in Harrismith faced a fountain of water in a major access road for two weeks that the Water Heroes repaired in a few hours. In both cases, millions of liters of drinking water was wasted.

The incompetence of these MAP officials needs to be seen to be believed. And they are being paid for this too, when those salaries would best be served by going directly into the local community rather than the pockets of these community parasites.
