Visiting the Maritime Museum of San Diego

Описание к видео Visiting the Maritime Museum of San Diego

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is a pretty cool and unique museum in Southern California, and the home of the Star of India, a San Diego landmark. It holds one of the largest collections of historic sea vessels in the world, with ships ranging from the 1500s to the 1960s. Located on Harbor Drive, which was once part of Highway 101, you can't miss the museum thanks to the Star of India which is docked right next to the street. Along with the historic ships, there are a couple of really cool recreations there, notably the San Salvador (the ship Cabrillo sailed when he became the first European to visit California) and the HMS Surprise, which was the ship from the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
