This is a more personal video about what it is like working in the NHS as a doctor currently. I started working as a resident doctor in the UK in 2011. Since then, I have seen many changes, and the healthcare system (NHS) has been underfunded and is nearing collapse. I no longer feel it is a safe system, the NHS is failing and it has been for a while. There are many reasons why I think we are at this stage, in this video, I'll cover the top 4.

Chronic underfunding - successive governments have not funded the NHS as it should have been. Staff unhappiness and leaving - lower wages than in other countries, low morale, and poor management are all reasons for this. Post-pandemic effect - and burn out. Chronic illness and aging population - the health burden is rising.

I'm not sure where the NHS will be in the next 5 years.
