Having chased steam locomotives for the past 8 years, I consider myself lucky to have witnessed a renaissance of steam on the mainline and flourishing tourist railroads. This all seemed to come to a grinding halt with the utter-hell scape that is the year of our Lord 2020. With the ongoing global Covid-19 Pandemic, heritage railways have made the wise decision to suspend operations until it is safe for their staff, passengers, and visitors. This means that the few lines who have taken extra precautions have seen a spike in visitors. One such line is the little Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, which truthfully has been on my radar for a while, but the guarantee of standard gauge steam sealed the deal. On August 8th, Ohio Power & Light 3, a little 0-6-0 lettered for the Hocking Valley, ran two trips, one halfway down the line and the other down the full stretch. Those familiar with the line will notice that I pulled some editing tricks on the locations, and unless they bother to read the description, I suspect they'll be confused!
I do recommend a visit to the Hocking Valley, it is a gorgeous railway and a friendly staff through Central Ohio. As always, I want to thank you for taking the time to watch the video.
