5th Kashmir Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2025 Concludes in Srinagar


Srinagar, October 21, 2025: The 5th Kashmir Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2025 concluded today at the Indoor Sports Complex, Polo Ground, Srinagar. The tournament was organised by the Kashmir Chess Club in collaboration with the All J&K Chess Association, under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and recognized by FIDE, the world chess governing body.


The five-day tournament, held from October 17 to 21, witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 150 players from 11 states across India and one international participant from Botswana, Southern Africa. The event showcased exceptional talent, competitive spirit, and growing interest in chess among youth in the region.


The tournament served as a platform to promote chess as a mind sport and strengthen sporting ties through healthy competition. The concluding ceremony was marked by prize distribution among the winners and recognition of young emerging players.


Organisers expressed gratitude to all participants, officials, and supporters who contributed to the successful conduct of the championship.
