Unfold the Universe [Xbolt]

Here's another Xbolt original!

After a month of not having any good ideas for music, this just came to me. I sat down and wrote this in about four hours. Inspiration is a funny thing.

On Christmas 2021, I tuned in to watch the broadcast of the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope.

When I was a kid, the Hubble Space Telescope was still brand-new. And so I've spent my whole life seeing the incredible pictures sent back by the venerable instrument. I have a book on my shelf that's nothing but Hubble images.

This week, the JWST team released the first set of images taken by the new telescope. And I was blown away by the crispness of the pictures. We've had three amazing decades of looking through Hubble -- I can't wait to see what Webb shows us over the next three.

I wrote this song about a week before these pictures were released. At the time, I didn't know what the song was about. But now I do.
