The International #Comic #Strip Festival, which has been held in #Angoulême every year since 1974, brings together professionals from all over the world and nearly 200,000 fans. For four days, huge marquees host publishers' stands, signing sessions, exhibitions, screenings, debates, conferences, meetings, concerts and workshops of all kinds. Dozens of professionals from the industry in general - for example, from publishing houses - also attend to represent a sector with an annual turnover of around 130 million euros.

For this year's 2025, the festival has made Spanish comics its guest of honour, an initiative that translates into the presence of around one hundred #Spanish authors.

With the slogan ‘#Spain, talent in comics’, the Ministry of Culture, together with #Acción #Cultural #Española and the collaboration of the Comic Strip Sectorial, is organising an extensive cultural programme that celebrates current creativity and recalls the history of #Spanish comics, consolidating the Ministry of Culture's commitment to the Spanish comics sector and reinforcing its strategy for the internationalisation of Spanish books.
