Today at 10.30AM election commission declared dates for general elections and Arvind Kejriwal started his road show with 20 vehicles at 1PM. After the declaration of an election date, no one can take out a road show without prior permission. So Kejriwal intentionally did violation of the model code of conduct. Police never arrested him, they just questioned him for 25mins and told him that you can not do a road show without permission. So Kejriwal started asking the police to arrest him.

District Collector Pattan Harish N clarified - "There was no detention or arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. Nor was any case registered against him. He was stopped to explain his road show and asked to get permission for his cavalcade as per the Code. Since the roadshow passed through this area after the Election Commission announced the poll schedule and the coming into effect of the Model Code of Conduct, we stopped his convoy of cars and asked him about it. Most of the cars had mediapersons in them and we were not aware of it this. So we asked for an explanation. Arvind Kejriwal and his two colleagues who were called in were offered tea. That's about all that happened."
