On May 11 2022, Conservative MP Lee Anderson stated that people use food banks because they "cannot cook properly" and "they cannot budget". We visited Lee Anderson's local food bank in Sutton-in-Ashfield to see if the users of this food bank agree with their MP.

As the cost of living crisis continues, with rising inflation, gas prices and food prices, use of food banks has doubled in a fortnight here, with 250 new referrals between 6 and 19 May — the period inflation reached 11 per cent for the poorest in Britain.
