Here is a list of Things you'll Need to start your Home Pottery Studio :)

2. A STOOL or a CHAIR

3. APRON
Claypron is what I purchased

4. RESPIRATOR / MASK
I purchased the 3M Respirator
https://www.amazon.com/3M-Facepiece-R...
*You could get this at your local hardware store. I've seen them and the filter replacements at Ace Hardware in my town.

5. SCALE
I found my digital scale on Amazon

6. HOME DEPOT
I think I spent over $250 here. I bought small and large buckets in the paint aisle with lids to use for my water system. 2 large buckets needed, 1 for clean water, and 1 for throwing water, trimming pieces, and all extra pieces of clay that dried out.

* I bought a small bag of plastic in the paint aisle. I think I spent $6. You can cut this to size and use to drape over your thrown pieces to slow down the drying process. You might as well pick up a box of plastic gloves too! I buy the black ones. Before you leave, grab a paint stir stick, & a paint can opener which are both FREE. @HomeDepot

7. A WORKBENCH / TABLE
I used a hutch, you can build a work bench to wedge your clay on. My friend suggested buying a used kitchen table off FB Marrket Place. You just need something sturdy. A lower shelf to put your clay is really nice.

8. MEASURING CUPS
I bought a 2 pack of 4 cup plastic measuring cups on Amazon.

9. BAT SYSTEM

10. TOOLS
I mentioned 4 tools in this video that are a must. You can find "Starter Kits" at your local Pottery Store, or visit clay king or Sheffield Pottery online. Blick.com is also another great art supply online store. I buy my painting brushes there

1. Needle Tool
2. Wood Wedge tool
3. Metal or Rubber kidney
4. Wood knife
5. Sponges

This is my local Clay Studio. They ship and they're wonderful. I buy my clear powder glaze (Cone 5/6), Amaco Underglazes, Pottery pencils, tools, clay (B-MIX), and more from them.
Check them online:

*You can always find Tool Starter Kits on Amazon too....

11. GIFFIN GRIP ~ POTTERY TRIMMING
I didn't learn how to trim without it, so that's why I bought it. 0 regrets, I love this thing!

‪@GiffinGrip‬

12. TRIMMING TOOLS
You'll need some trim tools to trim your work. I really love Kemper and Mud Tools.
‪@Mudtools‬

13. CLAY
I work with B-Mix and buy it from Aardvark Clay in Santa Ana, or from my local pottery studio for $20/bag. I just buy what I need. If you're having a 3rd party place fire your work, as what cone their kilns fire at. Mine fires at cone 5/6 so I buy clay that needs to be fired at that exact cone number. ‪@lagunaclaycompany7722‬

*Because I reclaim my clay, I don't have to buy clay as often. Reclaiming Clay is a vital step to making things run efficiently and environmentally friendly in my garage. I'll make a video on this another time.

For now this list should be helpful for you to get started. Remember, just buy what you need to get started. You don't need a Giffin Grip, or tons of fancy tools, just the basics. You can also go online and look for used wheels and kilns.

Good Luck and happy throwing!

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have and video ideas to cover.

Sincerely,

~ Brynne
