How to Test Resistance of Pickups Both Inside and Out of an Electric Guitar

I run into enough people that haven't learned this cool trick to test a guitar's pickup's resistance (ohm reading) while still inside their guitar that I thought it would be worthwhile to share with my subscribers. Yes, this isn't the only video out there that covers this topic, but I wanted to go over it so there was a nice video out there that covers how to get the reading in most situations.

Sometimes you need this information to give a potential buyer what the pickups might sound like - other times you need this to test if your pickup is working properly or to prove that a seller has sent you a broken pickup. It's definitely worth spending $10-$20 dollar to get a decent multimeter setup - even if you only use it once.

In this video, I teach you how to test the Resistance in ohms for pickups that are already installed inside your guitar as well as for Loose 2-wire/conductor, vintage-style braided wire and 4-wire/conductor lead pickups.

You will need a Multimeter / Ohm Meter, a guitar lead/cable, Wire Stripper (maybe) and a pickup that you're wanting to test in order to perform this test.
