Emilie Mayer: Symphony No. 1 in C Minor (North American Premiere)

Emilie Mayer was one of the most talented female composers of the Romantic Era. Born in Germany, she was a prolific composer of orchestral works, chamber music as well as solo piano music and lieder.

Her Symphony No. 1, composed around 1847, was left in manuscript and hand written parts until very recently. This video production made on December 1, 2022 is believed to be the first known performance of the work in North America.
