যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে হতে যাওয়া ফিফা বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবলের ড্র অনুষ্ঠান বয়কট করতে যাচ্ছে ইরান। দেশটির ফুটবল ফেডারেশনের সভাপতি মেহদী তাজসহ বেশ কয়েকজন সদস্যকে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ভিসা না দেয়ায় এ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে তেহরান। রাজনৈতিক কারণে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে বলে ফিফা বরাবর অভিযোগ করেছে ইরান। ফেডারেশনের এক মুখপাত্র জানিয়েছেন, ইরানকে অসম্মান করতেই এ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে ট্রাম্প প্রশাসন। তবে, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র বা ফিফার পক্ষ থেকে এখনো কোন মন্তব্য করা হয়নি বিষয়টি নিয়ে।

Iran is going to boycott the FIFA World Cup football draw ceremony to be held in the United States. Tehran has taken this decision after the US denied visas to several members of the country's football federation, including its president Mehdi Taj. Iran has accused FIFA of making this decision for political reasons. A spokesperson for the federation said that the Trump administration made this decision to disrespect Iran. However, there has been no comment from the US or FIFA on the matter yet.
