MGMT Kids just about sums up the 2000s for me. Popularised by shows like The Inbetweeners, I wanted to develop it into a remix that made it sound like the listener was hanging out at a club when it started playing.

To do this, I used some FL Studio. I first applied a lowpass filter onto it to try and get that "muffled" effect. I adjusted it to just the right level, making sure that it sounded "distant" but not inaudible. I then compressed the song slightly to make it sound more blurred and more like it was playing through party speakers. I tweaked with the sound for a few hours but I think I've just about achieved the effect here.
