Weird cars, unusual cars, one-offs & prototypes | Rare classic cars & other vehicles

Here are 100 weird, very unusual, one-off and/or prototype cars built mainly between the 1930s and the 1980s. Mixed in are production classic cars built in very low numbers, either British or from further afield, with one-off proposals put forward by design teams or outside coachbuilders that, for whatever reason, were not pursued any further but somehow survived into preservation.
The rare cars featured include the Amphicar, various Tatras, micro-cars, conversions made to regular cars, plus a small number of quirky competition machines. A small number of commercial vehicles large and small will also be found here. Other makes include Citroen, Morris, British Leyland, Alvis, Invacar, Land Rover, Wartburg and Allard. How many people have heard of or seen the Metro Cooper for example? or the Kleinschnittger, the Iota two-seat sportscar, a Land Rover driven by elephants, the Opperman Stirling, the go-anywhere Forest Rover, or a Maserati-powered Citroen DS convertible? All these and more often unique cars feature in this collection.
