There's always something new when it comes to texting etiquette. I used to think I needed to respond within 15 minutes of every text message. I didn't want to disappoint my friends or colleagues. I wanted to meet their needs and ignore mine.

What I came to discover was it was encroaching on my boundaries. There's no need to respond to every text message or respond to the message on the same day. What I do now is wait at least a day for some responses. Especially when it requires a Yes or no answer. That way your head can be in a clear space and you're just not responding in an irrational matter.
