This episode on the White Dog Garage YouTube Channel, shows the major service on the Gardenline 8846 petrol mower marketed in Australia by ALDI. The mower featured in the episode had been in use for quite some time and several maintenance issues were found, including a bad case of valve recession. Valve clearances were less than the minimum specification for both inlet and exhaust valve. There is no mechanical means of valve adjustment on this mower. Consequently, the valves were removed from the engine, and their stem length reduced by grinding with a HAFCO HM45 milling machine.
