Why Do Newcastle United and Sunderland FC Hate Each Other? | History of the Tyne & Wear Derby

Some of the most electric games in football are those played between teams from the same city, some of these rivalries going back centuries, even before the two sides started playing football. One of the most hotly-contested in England's Premier League, is the Tyne and Wear Derby, pitting Newcastle United from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne against Sunderland AFC, from Sunderland, just 12 miles away but its own city. In this video I'll look at the origins off this rivalry between the Geordies and the Mackems both on and off the pitch.
