Wezesha Kike! (Empower Her!) 2023 Nominations & Election - CMETrust School Break Program April 2024

CMETrust Secondary Scholars nominated and elected the 2023-2024 Wezesha Kike! male and female awardees, Nelson Ochieng’ and Phoebe Okoth respectively, for emulating gender equality, showing inclusivity, and giving back to CMETrust and the Mathare Community.

The scholars also appreciated the outgoing 2022-2023 awardees, Jeremy Okudo and Damaris Muthini respectively. The awards were handed out by the Executive Director, Titus Kuria and Program Manager, Esther Njenga. Every awardee received a Wezesha Kike! barge of honour that they will be wearing throughout their tenure.

Another award will be handed out during the annual Walk-a-Thon in December 2024 in front of all CMETrust stakeholders including the Canadian and Kenyan Board members, Parents/Guardians, Partners, Donors, Community Leaders, Alumni, Scholars and Staff.
