While traveling to the 50 states we were amazed at how many beautiful places there were in America that we hadn't heard much about before. Of course some of the most amazing places in America are well known and for good reason. Places like Zion, Redwood forests, Hawaii beaches, and Alaskan mountains. From the beautiful lakes of Idaho to the giant sand dunes in Michigan, there are so many other places that are also truly breathtaking that aren't known as well nationally.

One of those areas is the state of New York. When I think of New York I immediately think of America's largest city. But the rest of the state is full of forests, lakes, and tons of waterfalls! (I'm a sucker for waterfalls so maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much). Of course there's Niagara Falls, but there are so many other lesser known beautiful areas as well. These areas in upstate NY may not crack the top 10 chart in the US, but they are often a lot less crowded than the more famous national parks. This video shows a few of these amazing places we got to visit in New York state.
