~ Staycation Review ~
Stay Period - June 2022
Room Type - Deluxe Room

~ Check-in Experience ~
We stayed at the Forest City Golf Hotel in June 2022 and arrived early at around 12pm. There were some guests checking in and out but we did not have to wait long for our turn. Unfortunately and understandably, there were no rooms available yet and we were told they would contact us as soon as our room was ready. The hotel is located within the Forest City development district, which is about an hour away from the major urban center of Johor Bahru. The remote location means having a car is essential.

~ Room Experience ~
At 45 sqm, the room is spacious. Featuring a large bathroom with a free standing bathtub and separate shower cubicle as well as a large private balcony. The frosted glass bathroom wall offers additional natural light while maintaining privacy. The TV was a Samsung model, with a large screen size and high resolution. However the lack of channel variety was a letdown.

~ Pool & Gym Experience ~
Given the clientele that the hotel is aiming to attract are golfers, the pool was likely designed to entertain their families and kids. As a result, the pool is more akin to a kids play pool and not really intended for laps. Similarly, the hotel believes that golfers would have all their physical exercise on the greens and either did not fix or turn on the air conditioning in the gym.

~ Breakfast Experience ~
The breakfast buffet can get quite crowded. There was a decent variety of food items, though quality was lacking.

Pros:
Modern and pleasing decor.
Convenient for golfers.

Cons:
Far from civilisation.
Cleanliness was inconsistent.
